History

The Nikko Black Fox was released in 1985, and was an early ready-to-run 2WD, two-speed “frame buggy” with working suspension, differential, and large balloon rear tyres. It was made in Japan by Nikko, and was actually their first ever open-wheeled frame buggy R/C model. It was also arguably the first ever R/C buggy to have the cool “Turbo” feature on the transmitter (predating the Taiyo Jet Hopper which came out in 1986), which would shift the car into top speed. It’s looks and style mimicked the larger, 1/10 scale Tamiya buggies of the era, but in a ready-to-run package so that no construction skill was required. It is now remembered as one of the most attractive ready to run R/C buggies of the 1980s.
