History

The Tandy / Radio Shack Corvette Stingray was manufactured by a company called Atcomi from Japan (though most toys were manufactured in Hong Kong), and rebranded for sale through Radio Shack and Tandy stores worldwide. It was one of their very earliest Digital Proportional models, with a solid transmitter and nice, smooth performance, along with a nicely detailed and scale-realistic body of the classic Corvette Stingray. It was sold in stores for only one year in the early 1980s, around 1983, and is today a relatively difficult toy to track down for vintage R/C collectors and Corvette Stingray enthusiasts.
