Description
This Nikko Yamaha Moto-4 quad bike is new in box. Brand new, unused.
To ensure that it still works after all these years, I have tested it by holding it aloft (not on a surface) and testing all operation. All aspects work 100% perfectly, brand new from the factory.
The box has some wear and there is a split right along one side of the cardboard lid. The polystyrene base is ok. The original manual is also included.
Apart from the box wear, this vehicle is mint – and is as good an example as you will ever see. If you’re a fan of scale model quad bikes and trikes, the Nikko Yamaha Moto-4 is a very worthy R/C model to have in your collection that comes from the heyday of real quads, back in the 1980s.

History
The Nikko Yamaha Moto-4 was one of Nikko’s entries in the short-period in the mid 1980s when the popularity of full-size trikes and quad bikes spilled over into R/C toys, and several such vehicles were released by various brands. Most notably there was the Shinsei Dust Runner, but Nikko also had a go with the Yamaha Moto-4 and also the Tri-Z. Released in 1985, the Moto-4 is a gorgeous and realistic looking model, featuring large, high quality balloon tyres. This is basically a stunt R/C vehicle which pops wheelies at the slightest acceleration and features a wheelie bar at the back. Steering is operated only during forward motion and works by having one rear wheel spin faster than the other (leaving the front wheels as inoperable dummy wheels). With notably excellent and non-glitchy radio reception, the Moto-4 performs it’s functions smoothly, offering amusing wheelie action from a very life-like 1/8 scale Yamaha quad bike.
