About this example…
✔ 100% vintage. Original and first release of this model. Made by Taiyo in Japan from 1987.
✔ 100% working. Including 2 speeds.
✔ Battery compartments clean
✔ Transmitter included
✔ 2 x spare steering clips included
✔ Manual included
✔ Box included, with some polystyrene inserts
✔ All headlights included
✔ Nothing broken.
– Tyres are about 80% new. No cracking. Rubber is bouncy and fresh.
– There are light scuffs to the underside and bumper.
– Box & polystyrene base have wear, and some colour fade.
– Decals are generally good, with some edge wear and a few light marks.
Conclusion: Overall, great example of the Taiyo Jet Fighter in collector condition. A very presentable example which is clean, has all the decals, and is in perfect working order with plenty of tread left on the tyres. Priced according to condition, rarity and past examples I have sold.

History
The Taiyo Jet Fighter is a 2WD off road racing buggy featuring “Turbo” and was released in 1987. It was released after the Jet Hopper of 1986, and was the next buggy in Taiyo’s series of 1980s off-road racers. The Jet Fighter is a little more sophisticated, with a top speed of 27km/h. Much like the other early Taiyo “black box” series buggies, it’s looks were inspired by real size racing buggies (not to mention some of the Tamiya models of the day) and it features many real sponsor decals. Featuring a two-speed gear box, and oval block style tyres, the Jet Fighter was a blast to drive. Together with it’s 4WD sibling the Jet Racer, the Jet Fighter represented the top of Taiyo’s classic range of 1987.
