History

The Nikko Black Fox was released in 1985, and was an early ready-to-run 2WD, two-speed “frame buggy” with working suspension, differential, and large balloon rear tyres. It was made in Japan by Nikko, and was actually their first ever open-wheeled frame buggy R/C model. It was also one of the first R/C cars ever to have the cool “Turbo” feature on the transmitter (predating the Taiyo Jet Hopper from 1986), which would shift the car into top speed. It’s looks and style mimicked the larger, 1/10 scale Tamiya buggies of the era, but in a ready-to-run package so that no construction skill was required. It was also one of the most attractive ready to run R/C buggies of the 1980s.
