Description

This is a brand new in box, complete, original Yonezawa Land Dash from 1984.
This item is complete, never run. All items are included inside the box – antennas, manual, transmitter etc.

This item is old stock that has been in storage for a long time. There is a very small tear on the front of the box. But otherwise, the box is highly presentable and rigid, with nice artwork and colours.

The car is brand new, never run. It has some tiny marks to the edge of the silver roof decal. Some edges of the tyres are a bit flat due to long term storage, because the Land Dash always rests with it’s tyres against the polystyrene base inside the original box. Every Land Dash you find in the box has this issue (I have owned quite a few). So the reality is – you won’t find a better brand new in box Land Dash than this one, and the tyres (which are fresh and mint) are really very good regardless.

Definitely worthy of a collector. Relive the classic Yonezawa Land Dash once again. Don’t miss your chance.

History

The Yonezawa Land Dash was the most advanced R/C buggy ever sold by Yonezawa, a Japanese toy company with a long history dating back to the 1950s. They were famous for making tin robots in the 60s and 70s, but in the 80s they turned their attention to the R/C car craze, of which the Land Dash and the Missiler were their most high performance R/C models. In some markets, the Yonezawa Land Dash was rebranded under the Monogram brand, and sold as the Monogram Lightning.

Powered by an RS-540S motor and coming with a Digital Proportional transmitter, the Land Dash was designed to compete with the popular hobby buggies of the day such as the Tamiya Hornet and others. Unlike others however, it was sold in ready-to-run form, requiring no assembly and with a transmitter already included. This is a fast, and attractive vintage buggy with lots of elements that were typical of the era – realistic off-road buggy looks and sponsor logos, fat tyres, and a large front bumper. The Land Dash is now considered a classic buggy of the mid 1980s
