Description
For sale here is a vintage Tamiya Hornet Body Set. This is the original, vintage body set, released in the mid 1980s, for the Tamiya Hornet buggy. 100% complete and original, with the authentic decal sheet featuring genuine sponsor logos, and all accessories. This set (including the body) is different to the so-called “re-release” body set, which is widely available and still in production.
The box has a little wear, but is pretty good. The body and wing have some slight yellowing from age. But I believe they will still come up very nice once painted. I would be surprised if the yellowing was noticeable after painting – it is not extreme yellowing, but is noticeable when viewed edge-wise under white light. The body’s strength will not be affected by its age.
If you are restoring a vintage Tamiya Hornet, this is the body set you need to keep it original and authentic.
Vintage replacement body sets for the Tamiya R/C cars of the 1980s are definitely becoming more scarce each year – something to keep in mind for future restoration projects. As always, thanks for visiting my listing.
