Top Speed List

Growing up in the 1980s, one thing I always wanted to know was… how fast can toys go? And how do they compare to one another? I made a few ham-fisted attempts to work this out when I was little, with stop watches and things, but they were never really accurate…

These days, thanks to smartphones, it’s a lot easier to measure the speed of a passing object – to a good degree of accuracy. So this page is going to be filled with the top speeds of all the vehicle toys shown on this website – just as soon as I have time to work them out!

Note:

  • All cars will be measured on a flat, completely smooth, indoor surface, using two smart devices that work in tandem to measure speed with good accuracy.
  • Multiple measurements will be taken (at least 20), with the highest recorded speed considered to be the top speed for each toy.
