The box is excellent, the car is stunning. Capable of up to 31km/h, it is 100% working. A truly gorgeous example of this classic R/C model from the 1980s black box era of Taiyo R/C models. Priced according to rarity, condition and past examples I have sold.

History

The Taiyo Super Fight F-1 is a formula one styled R/C racer which features twin motors, slick tyres, spring suspension, and which is capable of up to 31km/h. Styled to look like the Williams Formula One team cars of the late 1980s, it eschews the outright “Rothmans” cigarette branding logos for more kid-friendly logos, but does carry other real brand sponsor decals as well. Based on a robust chassis that Taiyo came up with for several of it’s on-road models (including the Lamborghini Countach), these F1 cars fly and are a blast to drive. The slick tyres deliver plenty of wheel-spin on smooth surfaces, when you hit the famous “Turbo” on the transmitter. Built to last, and miles ahead of the R/C cars you find in toy stores these days, Taiyo’s F1 styled vehicles were still life-like, but with slightly better ground clearance than most R/C formula one cars in the hobby grade sector. Designed to last, and for loads of fun – all Taiyo vehicles from their “black box” era are highly collectible today.
