Description
This Shinsei Mountain Man is brand new in box – never run. Ultra rare in this condition. It has been tested by holding it aloft (not running on a surface) just to ensure that after almost 35 years it still operates – and it operates 100% perfectly.
Due to being stored for so long, there is a little wrinkling on the blue window tint decal on the windscreen and one side window. This is a plain blue decal shaped to fit the window though, so there’s potential for a modeller to simply print a new one to replace it (or remove the blue window decals entirely and leave the windows black). There is also some faint discolouration to the side decals due to the aging of the glue affixing them, but this is quite minor.
Basically, this is an amazing rarity in this condition, as brand new ones are extremely hard to find. The box is old and has wear, but is structurally sound and presents reasonably well.
Also included are the original manual, and even the original Shinsei wall charger in box.
Don’t miss your chance to finally own a brand new Shinsei Mountain Man – a true RC toy classic of the 1980s.

History
The Shinsei Mountain Man was an amazing ready-to-run RC toy in 1981 when it was first released by Shinsei of Japan. One interesting fact is that it was priced even higher in Japan (18,900yen) at the time, than some of the early Tamiya buggies like the Hornet. Featuring the ability to switch between 4WD and 2WD, and taking a lot of batteries, this was a very high quality 4×4 that travelled at a decent pace. It’s realistic looks made it a hit around the world, particularly in the USA where Chevy Blazers were most prevalent. Today the Mountain Man is the most sought-after RC model ever made by Shinsei, a company which disappeared sometime in the 1990s and is now long gone. Truly a cornerstone RC model if you’re into vintage 4×4 toys.
