Description

This Nikko / Technotoy Unimog is in excellent, 100% working condition. It is very clean and the underside and tyres are in mint condition, as if never run. There are however some scuffs to the front bumper, and there has been a repair at one end.

These cars come with a lot of fiddly little body accessories, and most examples have none of these left at all as they tended to fall off and go missing very easily. This car is missing the roof horns and one side-bar piece. But the other side bar is present, and both rear vision mirrors are also present (although one has a breakage and will need to be reglued).

The decals are superb, although there is some colour fade to the stripes on one side of the car. The rest of the decals are as new.

The original box is included, in good condition with nice artwork. The transmitter is as-new, and the original manual is also included.

All in all, this is a very clean Unimog, mint in some areas, with a few minor flaws – but highly presentable and far better than most you will find.

Please see the photos to understand the condition. Feel free to contact me to find out more.

History

The Nikko Unimog was first released in 1983 and is a highly realistic 4WD R/C model – from the classic early days of Nikko when their focus was on accurate scale realism. It was released the year after the Mercedes Unimog actually won the Paris-Dakar Rally truck class (1982), and came in two main varieties – the Paris-Dakar version, and an Alaska Polar Expedition version. The rear canopy can be removed to carry objects, and the model is overall incredibly scale-like and realistic, right down to the tyre tread. It was sold by Nikko in Japan and in Europe under Nikko/Technotoy branding, where it also proved popular. In 1984 Radio Shack / Tandy also licensed it for their stores with a few changes to the decals and branding.
