It comes with box and all paperwork, and still has the original chrome side mirrors, which are normally impossible to find on this one. Very display-worthy, and great for fans of classic Ford pickups. Priced according to rarity, condition and past examples I have sold.

History

Which R/C truck was the first R/C “monster truck” ever manufactured? Was it the Tamiya Blackfoot in 1986? No, because we know the Marui Big Bear came out before that, in about 1984/1985. And yet… here we have Nikko releasing this little Ford Ranger monster track way back in 1983, before any hobby-grade R/C company had come up with the idea. The Nikko Ford Ranger Off Roader is a faithful little replica of the early Ford based monster truck vehicles, in a compact 1/18 scale, yet still with working 4WD transmission and working headlights. Featuring Ford logos and truly scale-looks, this is a little-recognized but impressive toy for it’s time. Made from solid plastics and with proper rubber tyres, this model is light years better in quality than the awful, plasticky R/C trucks in stores these days. A great piece of 1980s monster truck nostalgia.
