Stunning condition otherwise, and 100% working, complete with box and paperwork. This truly unique 1980s tracked crawler is a toy to behold – they sure don’t make R/C vehicles like this anymore. Priced according to rarity, condition and past examples I have sold.

History

Manufactured in 1984 by Nikko of Japan, the “Flexmobile” is an R/C vehicle based on a real all-terrain snowmobile of the 1980s called the Kässbohrer Flexmobil. Faithfully reproduced right down to the grill, the Nikko model was a wonderfully imaginative and authentic release with working tracks and flashing light on the roof. Tandy/Radio Shack stores saw the appeal of this R/C model, and licensed it for release under their own branding in 1985 – enabling it to reach more markets outside Japan. Truly one of the high points in Nikko’s history, the Flexmobile is the sort of R/C vehicle that reminds us of just how eclectic and interesting the R/C hobby was during it’s early boom years in the 1980s.
