(Not vintage) Asbestos found in modern R/C toys...

Noticed this story, this week. As someone who's father died of asbestos poisoning, this astounds me.

Since the start of last year, foreign asbestos has been found in imported building materials, remote control cars, engine gaskets, billiard table irons and Sydney's new ferries.

Asbestos auditor Andrew Mantle said asbestos was readily available and legal in Asia, and its fire resistant properties meant it was used in a variety of products, particularly by manufacturing giant China.

That is shocking! What a story!

Just to add to this. Hobby shops in Australia are now having to recall the junk chinese cars containing the asbestos.

That's really bad Rob l can't believe this can go on nowadays with what is known about asbestos! Someone heads for the chop!!

Shocking. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Clearly this stuff is getting into our country and Borderforce are powerless to stop it, there's just so much of it, and China obviously does'nt give a hoot about our regulations.

Most scary was the statement "in China, a product containing five per cent asbestos is considered asbestos-free"

Of course this happened ,a country full of grubs not caring except for themselves.
