Description
The Taiyo Jet Hopper is of course, one of the most famous R/C toys ever made. It was first released by Taiyo in about 1985 or 1986, and subsequently found it’s way around the world. It was branded both Tyco and Taiyo in the USA, Metro and Taiyo in Australia, Dickie and Taiyo in Europe, and just plain Taiyo elsewhere. It is possibly the biggest selling R/C model ever – although figures are hard to confirm. But the scale of it’s popularity during the mid 1980s was phenomenal. One confirmed figure is that 280,000 Jet Hoppers were sold in Australia alone, during 1986 and 1987.
This Taiyo Jet Hopper is brand new in box. Absolutely mint, never run. Still has that brand new smell. You will not find better. It was removed from the box only for the photos.
This is an original Jet Hopper, manufactured by Taiyo, and not a fake or knock-off. It is also branded Dickie on the box, because this particular one was sold in Europe. The Jet Hopper itself is the same as those sold worldwide.
The box has slight wear, but is really excellent with bright colours and no tears. Everything is complete. Included are the Jet Hopper, transmitter with “turbo” function, manual, and even a spare body clip and set of steering rod clips (still sealed in packet)
Nothing ever beats “brand new”, when collecting vintage R/C toys and kits. This is a rare chance to own one of the few brand new Jet Hoppers left in the world.
